The Musical Sonett

This Idea (synalethism) has
been conceived due to only two bars (169-170)
from the Fugue of the Sonata nr. 3 for violin by Johann Sebastian Bach. At the
beginning a
"awareness" acted, probably a simple one (a vague giftedness, we could say) but
the passing
of the years led to a "self-awareness", to speak to Georg Wilhelm Friedrich
Hegel, which at
its turn, led to a certain (different) kind of "certainty and truth of the
reason" so that
time could decide at what extend it would be a product of the spirit.
If the sonnet is a means of literary expression with a very well-defined history
and if
various forms of music had something to say in the course of time, why wouldn`t
we throw a
stone in the lake: the musical sonnet? Will there be more than ten wise men
around?
(Albertus Secundus surely won`t be missing from such a symposium, "a game with
the glass
beads"). Will the exeption become the rule? There is no accuracy here, no truth,
but there
is free and sovereign confirmation, says Constantin Noica somewhere in his
unnaimed "letters
to a young disciple", thus obliging us to go from house to house to sing
Christmas carols in
the tradition al way: "may you, wheat, grow beautifully".
Once found, we hope that our position will have the right opposition that will
lead to
composition.
